Lauren McCluskey: University Of Utah Shooting Victim

Lauren McCluskey is the University of Utah shooting victim.  She was murdered by Melvin Rowland, a 37-year-old who committed suicide at a church hours after killing McCluskey.

Lauren McCluskey Was An Accomplished Athlete

KUTV reports that Lauren McCluskey was a talented athlete.  She was Cross Country and Track and Field star at the University of Utah.  The tweet below explains that Lauren was a senior majoring in communication.

The following tweet explains that a vigil is planned for McCluskey on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 5 PM.  It will take place on the steps of the John R. Park Building located at 201 Presidents Circle, Salt Lake City, UT 84112.

Lauren McCluskey’s Last Facebook Post

Lauren’s Facebook page explains that she attended Andrews Osborne Academy and Pullman High School before she was admitted to the University of Utah in 2015.  She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and has 396 Facebook friends.

Sadly, Lauren shared her last Facebook post on February 13, 2018.  She thanked her friends for the birthday wishes:

ABC explains that Lauren’s murder prompted a citywide manhunt.  Authorities received a tip that Rowland was at a church.  Officers chased Rowland briefly before he shot and killed himself.
