Chris Sheridan – LeBron James Leaving Cleveland

Chris Sheridan just broke the Internet.  The ESPN analyst just tweet that LeBron James is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers after the 2017-18 NBA season.  If Sheridan is right, Dan Gilbert has some serious work to do.  First Kyrie Irving and now LeBron.  If I was Dan I would try to trade Kyrie and LeBron as soon as possible but LeBron has a no trade clause.

Now that LeBron is definitely leaving does that give Kyrie some incentive to stay? Multiple media outlets report that Kyrie wants to leave to separate himself from LeBron.  Kyrie loves Kobe Bryant and he has that Mamba mentality.  Kobe couldn’t co-exist with Shaq because he wanted to be the Lakers’ number 1 option.

LeBron James Net Worth

When you’re worth more than $450 million it’s difficult to take orders from anyone.  LeBron is on his way to $1 billion so it’s difficult for him to respect Dan Gilbert.  LeBron is making plans for life after basketball and he’s learning how the corporate side of the NBA works.

If Gilbert was smart he would start succession planning.  If he gave James the option to own the Cavaliers one day, LeBron would most likely stay in Cleveland.
