What Did Wendy Williams Say About Jesse Williams HBCUs And The NAACP?
Actor and activist, Jesse Wesley Williams delivered a passionate speech at the 2016 BET Awards. The Queen of All-Media described the speech as poignant which means that his words made her sad. If she would have stopped there people wouldn’t be calling her an older version of Stacy Dash.
People were trying to get the actor fired from Grey’ Anatomy after the speech. The talk show host could have led the protest considering her reaction.
The talk show host stated that she would be offended if there was a school known as a historically white college. HBCUs were founded in 1964 to provide education to freed slaves following the American Civil War.
Williams didn’t leave the NAACP out. The New Jersey native went on to ask, “What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There the NAACP.” The NAACP was formed in 1909 to ensure the political, educational, social and economic rights of all people and to ultimately eliminate racism.
