If you're seeing the red bar that says "Snapchat" at the top of your screen you're not alone.  To remove the banner, turn off your microphone in your Snapchat settings.  The notification pops up to remind you that there are background apps running on your device.  With other apps, you can't disable the notification, instead you have to close the app to disable to red banner.


In other Snapchat news, the company is working hard to maintain its success.  Snapchat is one still one of the most popular social media apps on the planet but that can change if the company fails to find an innovative way to set itself apart from the competition.

Snapchat is going global.  The company wants more users that live outside North America.  Only 25% of Snapchat's 178 million users live outside the United States.
