Women are more likely to suffer from depression than men and more than 15 million people in America are depressed.  If you are depressed, you should seek professional help as soon as possible.  Mental health problems are common yet people tend to ignore them.  Many people who suffer from mental health issues are ashamed or in denial.  They don't seek help and the issue only gets worse.

In the Instagram post above, Don explains that he misses Dominique every day.  He wishes he could have done more and protected her.  Friends and family members can make all the difference in a person's recovery.  People who suffer depression often feel alone and they try to isolate themselves from the rest of the world.

Talk to your loved ones about their mental health as much as you can.  Remind them that they're not alone and let them know that you're willing to help them get the help they need.

In episode 18 of Black Ink Crew Chicago's third season, "Go Ahead, Becky" Don visits the bridge that his sister used to commit suicide.  Don is handling the tragedy very well.  Many people wouldn't be willing to visit the place where there loved one committed suicide.  Don is using his sister's death to promote mental health awareness and he's doing a great job.
