Lavontay Holmes is the 2-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Chicago on Tuesday, February 14. While crime in cities like Los Aneles and New York has decreased, Chicago's crime problem has worsened. Gangs continue to fight over control of different territories, leading to senseless violence.

Lavontay's murder was recorded on Facebook Live. The gang member that murdered him could care less about his future. If these crimes were happening in an affluent city, something would be done. If one rich person's child was murdered in Boca Raton, Florida, immediate actions would be taken to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Chicago's future is being murdered and effective actions are not being implemented. The nation's other issues are being prioritized while innocent kids are losing their lives.
Chicago's strict gun laws have not done anything to change the city. There are other cities, around the world, that simply wouldn't accept Chicago's crime problem. The people of those cities would join forces to ensure their voices were heard.
