The Curse of the Billy Goat is a curse that was placed on the Cubs by the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern chain in 1945.  Sianis was forced to leave Wrigley Field during a 1945 World Series game because of his pet goat, Murphy.  Fans complained that the goat's odor was unbearable.
