Queens Of Compton, West Coast Thang

If you watch the Lifetime hip-hop competition series, The Rap Game then you're familiar with Damani Brown aka Mani.  The 16-year-old represents South Central, Los Angeles, California and has a mother, Lacreshia Hoy aka "Cre" who was also a rapper.  She was a member of the female rap group Queens of Compton.

Monsters and Critics explains that Queen Latifah and Jermaine Dupri teamed up to create the show so that talented rappers like Mani are able to fulfill their dreams of becoming hip-hop stars.  Atlanta rapper, Miss Mulatto, won the first season of the competition enabling her to sign a record deal with Dupri's label, So So Def.
