Why Was Gucci Mane In Prison 2016

XXL reports that Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, hosted a homecoming concert on Friday, July 22 in Atlanta's Fox Theater.  Guwop brought out tons of guests including Drake and Future.  The duo took a detour from their Summer Sixteen Tour to welcome the Atlanta-rapper home.

According to TMZ Drizzy popped out about halfway through the set.  The two are currently working on a joint-project that may be called "6ers" since Guwop is from Zone 6, Atlanta and Drake is from Toronto aka "the 6." We're not complaining about the rapper being home, but why was Gucci Mane in jail in 2016?

Here's everything you need to know about the rapper's most recent legal issues:

  • Complex reports that he was hanging out with a friend on September 14, 2013
  • His friend didn't like the way he was acting so she called the cops
  • Authorities arrested the rapper for acting "erratically" and found a gun on him
  • He's a convicted felon so he was charged in federal court for possessing a gun as a felon
  • In 2014, he pleaded guilty to the charge and agreed to a plea deal which would result in him being in prison until 2016

Everybody Looking

The rapper released his 10th album, Everybody Looking on Friday, July 22, 2016.  Davis teamed up with some of the most talented rapper in the business, including Kanye West and Young Thug.  The last album he released was back in 2013 (Trap House III) therefore the streets have been patiently waiting.
