The massacre occurred at a gay nightclub on Sunday morning.  The tragedy has been described as a "domestic terror incident." According to CNN, the shooter pledged allegiance to ISIS.  The gunman, Omar Mateen, killed 50 people in the deadliest mass shooting in the United States.

The FBI has informed the nation that they have known about Mateen since 2013.  This has angered many people.  Once of my friends says his is voting for Donald Trump as a result of the tragic events.

The terror act is the worst the nation has seen since 9/11.  The most recent report states that 53 people were injured.  The shooter was 29 years old.  Police shot and killed him during an operation to free people that he was holding hostage.
The shooting occurred just one day after a gunman killed Christina Grimmie at Orlando's Plaza Live Theater.  The second deadliest shooting in the U.S. took place at Virginia Tech in 2007.  The 23-year-old gunman killed 32 people.
